Preventative Care
Early diagnosis and treatment can help you avoid more costly dental problems that may develop or be worsened by lack of basic preventive care. Preventive dental care can help each member of your family maintain a beautiful, healthy smile by safeguarding against oral diseases, like dental decay, gum disease, or periodontal disease. Our goal is to prevent these diseases from happening in the first place or to catch the problems in their early stages. That way they are easier and less expensive to treat.

- Digital Radiography
Digital radiography systems reduce radiation exposure to patients up to 80 percent compared to film-based systems. The reduction of the use of harsh chemicals and other waste materials associated with traditional radiography is also an additional benefit to our environment. Unlike film, digital X-ray images can be enhanced to assist in making a precise diagnosis. Images can be magnified, sharpened, colorized, or displayed as a negative.

Our office also utilizes air abrasion technology.
Air abrasion is used to remove decay from a tooth without using a dental drill. It works like a miniature sandblaster, blowing a stream of tiny aluminum oxide particles out of its tip onto the tooth. The tiny particles bounce off the tooth and literally blow the decay away with them.
Air abrasion is usually used to prepare teeth for composite white fillings. Air abrasion can also be used to repair cracks, to remove stains on discolored teeth, to prepare teeth for bonding and other various procedures.

- Air abrasion does not generate heat, pressure, or vibration.
- Air abrasion therefore often reduces the need for anesthesia (no needle), particularly if the cavity is shallow.
- Air abrasion is conservative and leaves more of the healthy tooth tissue behind
Our practice has the technology to make crowns with a 3-D milling machine and digital impression.
There are numerous benefits to a CEREC crown:
We use a tiny camera to make a three-dimensional scan of your teeth before any work is started. After your tooth is prepared, we then scan your tooth again which you will be able to see on our computer screen. This allows us to generate a 3-D model of your teeth and design the ideal restoration with the help of our computer. Your restoration is then milled out from a solid ceramic block. This is accomplished so precisely that it can be accurately fitted and bonded to the prepared tooth in the same appointment.
There are numerous benefits to a CEREC crown:
- Ceramics are bio-compatible
- Only one appointment is needed
- Improved cosmetics
- No temporary crown
- The CEREC ceramic has similar characteristics to healthy enamel
